Today was a super windy day and as I began to clean the dirty storm door I noticed this moth.
I have always had the thought that moths were ugly and butterflies had all the beauty.
But even this moth with no color was strikingly gorgeous to me.
I couldn't help but notice its details and design.
My best guess is that this is an owl moth...
could be wrong so if anyone reading knows for sure, let us know by commenting below.

Here are a few of my favorites, which by the way
make me antsy to watercolor a collection of these beauties!

I had a few thoughts as I watched how he clung to the glass door.
He did not want to let go.
Even the whistling winds could not tear him away.
Something about this door was "good" to him and he did not want to be anywhere else.
I noticed how fragile his wings were...paper thin.
hmmm, I thought.
Life is fragile...do we treat it as such?
Do we cling to what is good? what is true? what is noble, what us praiseworthy?
Do we cling to God and His word?
Do we cling to Him only in times of trouble or all the time?
Do we let the strong winds blow us away and distract us from our source and strength?
hmmmmm....
Romans 12:9
9 r Let love be without hypocrisy. s Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 t Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, u in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 v rejoicing in hope, w patient 3 in tribulation, x continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 y distributing to the needs of the saints, z given 4 to hospitality.

I would actually say cling to such things...
